OSTEOPAHIC SCHOOL'S NEW MASTER PLAN CALLS FOR EXPANSION
Full Description:
The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine is looking to expand by acquiring nearby property.
A new five-year master plan recently approved by the school’s Board of Governors recommends acquiring any property which may become available, including county-owned property. However, eminent domain will not be used, school spokesman Jeffrey Cobb said.
The plan also includes a $1.2 million expansion of the Founders Activity Center, $1 million in improvements to landscaping, sidewalks and signage on the Lewisburg campus, and additional parking.
“Our vision for the WVSOM’s future is truly first class,” said school President Olen Jones. “I’m sure everyone will be quite pleased with our future development. The best is yet to come.”
The state Higher Education Policy Commission must approve the plan.
